Robert J. Batting

Robert J. Batting graduated from the University of Calgary Law School in 1980. He was trained by the Crown Prosecutor’s Office and remained in the Calgary Prosecutor’s Office for many years.

At the request of the Alberta Law Society, Mr. Batting taught annual seminars to help practicing lawyers improve their courtroom skills.

Mr. Batting has represented over 3,000 clients in a wide range of offences, but he now exclusively practices criminal law in Calgary.

James Wyman

Mr. Wyman holds a Bachelor of Management degree from the University of Lethbridge where he graduated with distinction. Upon completing his undergraduate studies, Mr. Wyman accepted a scholarship to attend Gonzaga University’s School of law in Spokane, Washington where he graduated magna cum laude.

While attending law school, Mr. Wyman interned at the Spokane County Prosecutor’s office as well as the Washington State Court of Appeals. Mr. Wyman was also the Articles Editor for the Gonzaga Journal of International Law.

After successfully passing the Washington State Bar examination Mr. Wyman returned to the province of Alberta where he articled with Calgary Legal Guidance, an organization providing legal representation to low income individuals charged with criminal offences.

Following his admission to the Law Society of Alberta, Mr. Wyman began practicing criminal law with the offices of Batting, Der.
